Structural and functional magnetic resonance imaging in isolated REM sleep behavior disorder: A systematic review of studies using neuroimaging software

چکیده

Isolated rapid eye movement sleep behavior disorder (iRBD) is a harbinger for developing clinical synucleinopathies. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has been suggested as tool understanding the brain bases of iRBD and its evolution. This review systematically analyzed original full text articles on structural functional MRI in patients with video-polysomnography-confirmed according to systematic procedures by Reviews Meta-analyses (PRISMA). The literature search was conducted via PubMed database related from 2000 2020. Investigations date have diverse terms methodology, but most agree that changes deep gray matter nuclei, cortical atrophy, disrupted connectivity within basal ganglia, cortico-striatal cortico-cortical networks. Furthermore, there evidence detects associated motor non-motor symptoms iRBD. current highlights need larger multicenter longitudinal studies, using complex approaches based data-driven unsupervised machine learning will help identify patterns degeneration. In turn, this may even allow prediction subsequent phenoconversion clinically defined

Software Tools for the Analysis of Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging

Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) has become the most popular method for imaging of brain functions. Currently, there is a large variety of software packages for the analysis of fMRI data, each providing many features for users. Since there is no single package that can provide all the necessary analyses for the fMRI data, it is helpful to know the features of each software package. ...

Analysis of Memory-Related Brain Activation Maps in Sleep-Depriveation using Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging

Background and purpose: Insomnia is a common sleep disorder with negative consequences such as decreased quality of life. In this study, the effect of sleep deprivation on memory in both young and older adults was investigated using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). Materials and methods: In this retrospective study, fMRI data of 40 healthy subjects (17 young and 23 older people) w...

Diagnosis of Meningitis Caused by Pathogenic Microorganisms Using Magnetic Resonance Imaging: A Systematic Review

Introduction: Bacterial meningitis is an acute infectious inflammation of the protective membranes covering the brain. Its early diagnosis is vital because of its high morbidity and mortality. It is mostly diagnosed by a gold standard diagnostic tool i.e. Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF) analysis. However, it is sometimes difficult and or impossible to do this procedure and an alternative diagnostic t...

Chemobrain: a systematic review of structural and functional neuroimaging studies.

Nowadays, chemotherapy-induced cognitive impairment or 'chemobrain' is a well-established clinical syndrome, consisting of moderate to subtle cognitive changes across various domains, especially working memory, executive function and episodic verbal memory that persist only in a subgroup of long-term cancer survivors. In recent years, several studies using neuroimaging techniques have reported ...
